About

Hi, I’m Emma. I started Pine in November 2025 with the intention of providing low-cost, non-judgemental and supportive counselling that anyone can access across the UK.

My approach, while integrative and varied, is mainly person-centred, relational, psychodynamic and parts-based. I predominantly work with neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, AuDHD) clients and clients presenting with anxiety, but have experience with a varied range of clients.

Therapy is a journey, not a quick fix.

Keeping an open mind and patience is key in getting the most out of therapy. It can be frustrating at times; for example, feeling stuck or drained during the process, but healing doesn’t happen in one day. Going at your own pace is paramount and it’s important that you feel safe and comfortable - rushing into the journey can do more harm than good. That being said, short-term options are available and can be arranged if preferred. Get in touch for more information.

Our Approach

At Pine, the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in the process. We want to ensure that we maintain warmth and authenticity so that a trusting relationship can be formed. You are the expert of your own life, but we will work alongside you and aim to make you feel as understood and supported through your journey with us.

As individuals, we all have different preferences and needs. This is also important in counselling, as what may work for one person may not for another. This is why, though mainly adopting a Person-centred approach, we work integratively, meaning that different approaches (e.g. Psychodynamic, Existential, Solution-focused) can be integrated depending on what feels right.
